Schools Struggle to Download 2026 SSC Results via EIIN Numbers Due to Software Update, Board Directs Admin Panel Access

Educational institutions across Bangladesh encountered difficulties downloading official Secondary School Certificate and equivalent examination results on Monday, August 10, after discovering that the standard method using institution EIIN numbers was unavailable.

Addressing the issue, an official from the Dhaka Education Board explained to The Daily Campus that a recent software update implemented by the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology altered the portal architecture, temporarily closing the direct EIIN-based download option. Consequently, school administrators have been advised to log directly into their institutional admin panels to retrieve student scorecards.

The technical glitch surfaced on the same day the Ministry of Education officially released the nationwide 2026 secondary examination outcomes during a morning briefing at the ministry conference room. Official data from the release indicated that a total of 1,829,485 students participated in the examinations across the country's eleven education boards, with 1,138,877 candidates successfully passing and 690,608 failing.

The overall national pass rate for 2026 settled at 62.25 percent, marking a decline from the 68.45 percent recorded during the previous year, representing a drop of 6.20 percentage points. Meanwhile, a total of 116,676 students across all participating boards achieved the highest grade point of GPA-5.

Regional performance metrics released alongside the results highlighted stark variations across the country. The Dhaka Education Board secured the highest pass rate among regional boards at 71.63 percent, while the Mymensingh Education Board recorded the lowest position with a pass rate of 57.39 percent.

Pass rates across the remaining regional and specialized boards included 66.27 percent for Jashore, 65.42 percent for Cumilla, 63.67 percent for Rajshahi, 60.35 percent for Barishal, 59.48 percent for Chattogram, 58.33 percent for Sylhet, 58.05 percent for Dinajpur, 58.20 percent for the Technical Education Board, and 55.49 percent for the Madrasah Education Board.
