Dhaka Tops SSC 2026 GPA-5 Count, Barishal Ranks Lowest: Board-Wise Breakdown

A comprehensive analysis of the outcomes published on August 10 indicates that a cumulative total of 106,009 students achieved the highest grade of GPA-5 across the nine general education boards. The nationwide pass rate for the 2026 examinations stands at 62.25 percent, reflecting a 6.2 percent decrease compared to the previous year, alongside a drop of 22,356 in total GPA-5 recipients nationwide.

The Dhaka Education Board registered a pass rate of 71.63 percent, with 33,253 students securing GPA-5, placing it comfortably at the top of the regional rankings. Following behind in top-tier performance, the Rajshahi Education Board recorded a pass rate of 63.67 percent and yielded 16,113 GPA-5 recipients, while the Dinajpur Education Board logged 13,639 top graders alongside a 58.05 percent pass rate.

The Jashore Education Board posted a 66.27 percent pass rate with 11,478 students earning GPA-5, whereas the Cumilla Education Board recorded a pass rate of 65.42 percent and 9,814 top grades. The Chattogram Education Board achieved a pass rate of 59.48 percent, with 9,398 candidates securing the maximum grade point.

Further down the regional rankings, the Mymensingh Education Board saw 5,700 students attain GPA-5 amid a 57.39 percent pass rate. The Sylhet Education Board recorded a pass rate of 58.33 percent with 3,836 GPA-5 recipients. Meanwhile, the Barishal Education Board recorded a pass rate of 60.35 percent, with 2,778 students achieving GPA-5, marking the lowest count among the nine general education boards.

In addition to the general stream, the specialized boards released their respective metrics for the 2026 academic cycle. The Madrasa Education Board reported a pass rate of 55.49 percent with 6,716 Dakhil examinees earning GPA-5, while the Technical Education Board recorded a pass rate of 58.20 percent, yielding 3,951 top-tier achievers.
