DSHE Issues Show-Cause Notice to Schoolteacher Over Facebook Post
The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) has issued a show-cause notice to an assistant physical education teacher at a non-government secondary school in Brahmanbaria over allegations of making defamatory posts on Facebook targeting higher authorities.
The order was issued on Monday (August 3) under the signature of DSHE Education Officer (Secondary-2) Mawdud Ahmed.
The recipient of the notice has been identified as Md. Abu Taleb (Index: N1134733), Assistant Teacher (Physical Education) at Haidarnagar Kalakandi Asmatunnesa High School in Bancharampur Upazila under Brahmanbaria district.
According to the official order, Abu Taleb allegedly published defamatory remarks on his personal social media account against higher administrative authorities. The notice directs him to explain why administrative disciplinary action should not be initiated against him for violating existing Information and Communication Technology (ICT) or Cyber Security laws, as well as the Non-Government Secondary School Teachers' Conditions of Service Rules, 1979.
DSHE has instructed the teacher to submit a formal written response within three working days. The directive specified that failure to submit a satisfactory explanation within the stipulated timeframe may lead to further administrative and legal action under existing rules.
