Primary Scholarship Exam Results Postponed from May 21, Tentative Timeline Announced
The results of the Primary Scholarship Examination, which was reintroduced this year after a hiatus of nearly a decade and a half, will not be published on the previously scheduled date of May 21. Although the Directorate of Primary Education (DPE) had initially planned to release the results this coming Thursday, officials have confirmed that the publication has been deferred to early June.
A. S. M. Sirajuddoha, Deputy Director (Establishment) of the Administration Division at the Directorate of Primary Education, told The Daily Campus on Tuesday (May 19), "We had initially planned to release the results on May 21. However, that is no longer possible. The results will now be published after the upcoming Eid holidays. We hope to officially release the results in the first week of June."
Prior to the commencement of this year's scholarship examination, which ran from April 14 to April 18, the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education released a comprehensive guideline and examination schedule. The policy outlined 10 special directives alongside a strict code of conduct for the duration of the assessment.
According to the official schedule, the examinations for Bengali were held on April 15, English on April 16, Elementary Mathematics on April 17, and Bangladesh & Global Studies alongside Elementary Science on April 18. However, minor adjustments were made to the examination schedules for the three hill tracts districts—Rangamati, Khagrachhari, and Bandarban.
As per the approved policy, the scholarships will be distributed under two distinct categories: Talentpool and General. The merit list will maintain a strict gender parity, ensuring a 50 percent quota allocation for both male and female students. Furthermore, 80 percent of the total scholarships will be reserved exclusively for students from government primary schools, while the remaining 20 percent will be allocated to students enrolled in private educational institutions.
