The Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Boards have drafted the schedule for the 2027 Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations. According to the proposed timeline, the exams are slated to begin on January 7, 2027, and conclude on February 6.
Education Board authorities noted that this schedule remains subject to change under special circumstances. The information was confirmed by Ministry of Education sources on Thursday (May 14) afternoon.
The proposed dates align with the recent objectives shared by Education Minister Dr. A.N.M. Ehsanul Hoque Milan. The Minister previously expressed his intent to start the SSC exams in the first week of January to ensure they conclude before the start of Ramadan, expected around February 10.
Additionally, the Minister aims to organize the HSC examinations by June. This synchronization is intended to allow students aspiring for higher education to meet the deadlines for Fall semester admissions.
The decision follows a high-level meeting at the Ministry on Wednesday (May 13), where stakeholders—including teachers, students, heads of institutions, and Education Board chairmen—provided their feedback on the examination timelines. The move is part of a broader effort to streamline the academic calendar and eliminate session jams.
