More than 375,000 teachers and employees working in private schools and colleges (MPO-listed) may receive approval for their April salary today, Tuesday (May 5). Beyond the approval, the salary and allowance proposals are also expected to be forwarded to the Chief Accounts Office for further processing.

Professor Mohammad Monir Hossain Patwary, Director (Finance and Procurement) of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE), confirmed the development to The Daily Campus this morning.

According to the DSHE Director, the approval process involves several digital and administrative steps before the funds reach individual bank accounts:

  • Approval and iBAS++ Inspection: Once the April salary is approved today, it must be reflected in the Integrated Budget and Accounting System (iBAS++).

  • Chief Accounts Office: Following the digital inspection, the proposal will be sent to the Chief Accounts Office for fund clearance.

  • Bank Disbursement: Once the Chief Accounts Office releases the funds, the money will be transferred to the respective banks via Bangladesh Bank. Teachers and employees will then be able to withdraw their April salaries and allowances.

Typically, the heads of MPO-listed institutions submit salary proposals each month. After online bills are filed, they undergo a rigorous verification process and are coordinated with the Ministry of Finance. Upon final clearance from the ministry, the authorities proceed with the disbursement.

Government officials noted that the transition to digital bill submission and automated approval processes has significantly increased transparency and ensured more regular payments for MPO-listed staff across the country.
