Final Decision on Online-Offline Classes Not Today: Education Minister
The final decision on introducing a hybrid (online and offline) class system in educational institutions will not be taken today, said Education and Primary & Mass Education Minister Dr. A N M Ehsanul Haque Milon.
He made the statement on Sunday (5 April) while replying to journalists at the Secretariat.
The minister said: “Not today. The matter of online-offline classes in educational institutions will be finalised at the Cabinet meeting on Thursday.”
Earlier, after last Thursday’s Cabinet meeting, Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Gani said the Education Ministry would issue separate guidelines on the issue after necessary discussions, keeping in mind that academic activities should not be disrupted.
A senior official of the Education Ministry told The Daily Campus that no decision has been taken yet on online classes. The final decision will be made by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman after discussions with relevant stakeholders. Once a decision is reached, it will be officially notified through a gazette or ministry website.
