The announcement of a three-day continuous holiday in educational institutions has brought relief to everyone, while also sparking new discussions about the possible introduction of online classes.

Sources informed on Tuesday that all educational institutions across the country will remain closed on Sunday (April 5, 2026) on the occasion of Easter Sunday. This will combine with the regular weekly holidays on Friday and Saturday.

As a result, teachers and students will enjoy a continuous three-day break. The holiday was already scheduled to mark Easter Sunday, one of the most important religious festivals for Christians. According to religious belief, this day commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ and holds profound significance for Christians.

Meanwhile, considering the impact of the global fuel crisis, the government is thinking of introducing new changes in the education system. Multiple sources told journalists on Tuesday that “discussions are underway regarding the introduction of a hybrid system combining online and in-person classes at the school level.”

Educationists believe that adding this new method to the education system after the temporary break could be an important step according to current realities. However, they emphasized that infrastructural preparation and ensuring equal opportunities for all students will be essential for its successful implementation.
