CUCSU Election Schedule Declared, Voting Set for October 12

The election schedule for the Chittagong University Central Students’ Union (CUCSU) has been announced. On Thursday, August 28, 2025, at 3:30 PM, Professor Monir Uddin, Chairman of the CUCSU Election Committee, declared the schedule at the Faculty of Business Administration Auditorium. Voting is set for October 12, 2025, marking the first CUCSU election in 36 years.

As per the schedule, nomination paper distribution will begin on September 14 and continue until September 16. The deadline for submitting nomination papers is September 17. Scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on September 18, followed by the release of the preliminary candidate list on September 21. The last date for withdrawing nominations is September 23, with the final candidate list published on September 25. Voting will occur on October 12 from 9 AM to 4 PM.

Since Chittagong University’s establishment in 1966, the first CUCSU election was held in 1970. Although intended to occur every academic year, only six elections have been organized so far, with the most recent on February 8, 1990.
