Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmad Khan has stated that if the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) election is obstructed, he will clearly identify those responsible and specify where he faced hindrances. He said, “The DUCSU election is a major undertaking. As long as everyone holds my hand, I will stay in the field. The moment my hand is let go, I will call everyone together and clearly state where I was blocked.” He made these remarks while speaking to journalists on Saturday, August 23, 2025, during a discussion meeting organized to mark Dhaka University’s Black Day.

During the event, the Vice-Chancellor said, “The entire nation is watching the DUCSU election. Efforts are underway to conduct the vote in a good environment. Everything is proceeding under the commission’s guidance. Discussions have been held with all stakeholders.”

He further stated, “As a national institution, Dhaka University has maintained a tradition of resisting injustice when it arises. In any situation, we must learn from history and speak out against injustice.” During the discussion, he called on the army and all stakeholders to work together collaboratively.
