Over 45,000 Applications Received in Three Days for Dhaka Central University Admission

The proposed Dhaka Central University has recorded 45,791 applications for its undergraduate programs in the 2024-25 academic year, including prior submissions, over the past three days. The admission process, which began recently, will continue until August 10, 2025, Professor Dr. Md. Mostafizur Rahman, convener of the online admission committee, confirmed to The Daily Campus on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.

The admission committee reported that 17,940 students applied to the Science Faculty, 15,485 to the Arts and Social Sciences Faculty, and 12,366 to the Business Studies Faculty. To accommodate applicants, the university administration, led by Professor AKM Elias, issued a notice reducing and detailing available seats across its seven affiliated colleges for each academic unit.

Science Unit Seats: Dhaka College offers 775 seats, Eden Mohila College 876, Government Titumir College 820, Government Bangla College 711, Begum Badrunnesa Government Girls’ College 576, Government Shaheed Suhrawardy College 520, and Kabi Nazrul Government College 495.

Business Studies Unit Seats: Dhaka College has 234 seats, Eden Mohila College 419, Government Titumir College 415, Government Bangla College 225, Begum Badrunnesa Government Girls’ College 151, Government Shaheed Suhrawardy College 155, and Kabi Nazrul Government College 286.

Arts and Social Sciences Unit Seats: Dhaka College provides 681 seats, Eden Mohila College 785, Government Titumir College 765, Government Bangla College 674, Begum Badrunnesa Government Girls’ College 593, Government Shaheed Suhrawardy College 465, and Kabi Nazrul Government College 529.

Applications are accepted online at https://collegeadmission.eis.du.ac.bd, with a fee of BDT 800, payable through state-owned banks or mobile financial services, as per the administration’s notice.
