Official Logo, Seal, and Monogram Unveiled for Dhaka Central University
The newly established 57th public university of the country, Dhaka Central University, has officially unveiled its final logo, seal, and monogram designs. The official emblems are scheduled to be uploaded to the university's web portal shortly and will be immediately integrated into official administrative tasks, including the printing of student identification cards.
The updates were confirmed on Wednesday (July 15) by the Treasurer of the university, Professor Dr. Borhan Uddin.
Speaking on the development, the Treasurer clarified that the core design remains intact, with structural changes primarily limited to the institutional color palette. Because the changes were color-centric, the university chose not to issue a separate general notice. He further noted that the black-and-white version of the logo remains completely unchanged. While a detailed presentation of the design elements will be shared during an official unveiling ceremony, the visual assets have been released early to expedite urgent tasks like ID card production.
An analysis of the newly finalized logo shows a distinct shield-shaped layout containing the symbols of an open book, a rising sun, and a global map, accompanied by the official institutional motto: "Learn, Create, Inspire." The emblem features a strategic combination of deep blue, deep red, white, and orange colors, while a ribbon stretching across the bottom bears the inscription "Dhaka Central University."
Similarly, the official institutional seal adopts a circular configuration. The outer blue band features the motto "LEARN • CREATE • INSPIRE" written in English block letters, with "DHAKA CENTRAL UNIVERSITY" inscribed directly beneath it. The combination of blue, white, red, and gold accents in the seal is designed to symbolize academic excellence, continuous learning, and a global educational outlook.
The university's monogram mirrors the shield-shaped architecture, placing the text "LEARN • CREATE • INSPIRE" along the upper portion, while housing the symbols of the rising sun, the open book, and the globe in the center. A flowing ribbon at the base anchors the design with the words "DHAKA CENTRAL UNIVERSITY." The monogram has been meticulously optimized for integration into official government documents, institutional letterheads, student credentials, and formal publications.
Dhaka Central University was established earlier in 2026 as the 57th public university of Bangladesh, effectively affiliating the seven government colleges of the capital under a unified university banner. The transformation marks the successful conclusion of a long-standing student movement, culminating in the passing of the university act in the National Parliament on April 10.
