Dr Md Mamun Or Rashid Appointed VC of BU
University of Barishal has appointed Professor Dr Md Mamun Or Rashid, Dean of the Faculty of Oceanography at Patuakhali Science and Technology University, as its new Vice-Chancellor.
The appointment was announced through a notification issued by the Ministry of Education on Wednesday (May 14).
According to the notification, the appointment was made with the approval of the President and Chancellor under Section 10(1) of the University of Barishal Act, 2013 (amended).
As per the terms of the appointment, Prof Rashid will serve as Vice-Chancellor for four years from the date of joining or until his retirement, whichever comes earlier.
During his tenure, he will receive salary and allowances equivalent to his current position along with other benefits in accordance with university regulations.
The notification further stated that, as the university’s chief executive officer, he will remain stationed on the university campus on a full-time basis.
