Dr Anisur Rahman Appointed VC of BRU
Begum Rokeya University has appointed Professor Dr Anisur Rahman of the Marketing Department at University of Dhaka as its new Vice-Chancellor.
The appointment was announced on Thursday (May 14) through a gazette notification issued by the Public University Branch of the Secondary and Higher Education Division under the Ministry of Education.
The notification, signed by Assistant Secretary Md Sultan Ahmed, stated that the appointment was made with the approval of the President and Chancellor.
According to the terms of the appointment, Prof Rahman will serve as Vice-Chancellor for four years from the date of joining or until his retirement, whichever comes earlier.
During his tenure, he will receive salary and allowances equivalent to his current position, along with other benefits associated with the office in accordance with university rules.
The notification further stated that, as the university’s chief executive officer, he will remain stationed on the campus on a full-time basis. However, the President retains the authority to cancel the appointment at any time.
