Candidate detained with mobile and pocket router at BRUR center
A candidate appearing for the admission test of Rajshahi University’s (RU) ‘A’ Unit (Faculty of Social Science and Arts) at the Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) center has been detained with a mobile phone and a pocket router.
On Saturday (January 17), around 10:30 AM, these prohibited devices were recovered from the candidate, identified as G.M. Sarowar Ahmed, during a search at the center's entrance. He was detained by the proctorial team and subsequently handed over to the police for further action.
Regarding this matter, BRUR Proctor Dr. Ferdousur Rahman said, "The candidate has been detained and handed over to the police. Preliminary investigations found no involvement with any organized crime rings; however, he has been barred from participating in the exam due to his attempt to resort to unfair means. After the examination, our legal cell, mobile court, and relevant authorities will convene to make a final decision."
Professor Abu Naser Md. Wahid, Head of the Law Department at Rajshahi University, stated, "If any student adopts unfair means or if anything illegal is found in their possession, the university's proctorial body and administration will handle the matter. If a crime occurs outside the hall or center, it will fall under the purview of existing laws."
