The administration of Rajshahi University (RU) has detained a candidate named Divya Jyoti Saha for resorting to unfair means using AI (DeepSeek) technology on a mobile phone during the 'C' unit admission test. He was detained at 11:00 AM on Friday (January 16) at the Sir Jagadish Chandra Bose Academic Building during the first shift of the exam.

Meanwhile, it has been revealed that the accused student had previously secured 3rd position in the 'A' Unit (Faculty of Science) admission test at Chittagong University (CU). Since the news of his detention broke, questions have surfaced on social media: Did he cheat during the CU exams as well?

It has been learned that Divya Jyoti Saha secured the 3rd position in the CU 'A' unit admission test by scoring 87.50 out of 100. His roll number in the CU admission test was 100222. While he resides in Siddheswari, Dhaka, his permanent residence is in Khulna. His father, Dr. Saha Chanchal Kumar, is a Deputy General Manager at Janata Bank, and his mother, Alpana Saha, is a homemaker.

The matter has come to the attention of the Chittagong University authorities. Professor Saidur Rahman Chowdhury, Director of the University's ICT Cell, told The Daily Campus that documents related to his admission test results have been handed over from the ICT Cell to various administrative officials. These records have been sent to the Vice-Chancellor, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, and the Coordinator of the 'A' unit admission test.

When asked about the situation, CU Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Professor Dr. Mohammad Shamim Uddin Khan said, "The matter has been presented to the Central Admission Test Committee. The committee will investigate whether this student resorted to any unfair means here. Since he was caught cheating at RU, we are not taking this lightly. Based on the recommendations after the committee's scrutiny, we will take appropriate action against him."
