DUCSU GS and AGS to Hold Akdh Ceremony Today
The Akdh (marriage contract) ceremony of Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) General Secretary (GS) SM Forhad and Assistant General Secretary (AGS) Mohiuddin Khan is scheduled to take place today Wednesday (24 December 2025).
The event was originally planned for mid-December but was postponed following the death of Inqilab Moncho spokesperson martyr Sharif Osman Hadi.
Reliable sources from DUCSU and Islami Chhatra Shibir confirmed this to The Daily Campus late Tuesday night. Details about the brides remain undisclosed, though one source mentioned that Forhad’s bride is reportedly from Feni district.
A DUCSU member said Forhad’s Akdh ceremony will be held after Zuhr prayer today at a mosque, while Mohiuddin’s ceremony details are yet to be confirmed.
A central Islami Chhatra Shibir leader told The Daily Campus that both SM Forhad and Mohiuddin Khan’s marriage ceremonies are today.
Late Tuesday night (around 8:45 pm), DUCSU member Rayhan Uddin posted on Facebook: “DUCSU AGS Mohiuddin Khan and GS SM Forhad bhai are getting married today, InshaAllah. Endless prayers and best wishes for them. May Allah bless their married life.”
Alongside their DUCSU roles, Forhad and Mohiuddin serve as president and secretary, respectively, of the DU unit of Islami Chhatra Shibir.
Forhad is a student of the 2017-18 session at the Institute of Social Welfare and Research, while Mohiuddin belongs to the 2018-19 session of the Department of Public Administration.
The ceremony is expected to be attended by leaders and activists from various student and political organisations.
