JnUCSU Election
JnUCSU Poll Schedule to be Announced on Monday
The bell for Jagannath University Central Students’ Union (JnUCSU) election has rung following the release of its draft conduct rules. The five-member election commission has begun work, with the preliminary code of conduct already published. The commission has confirmed that the poll schedule will be announced on Monday.
Multiple sources from the election commission verified this to The Daily Campus on Saturday. They said the commission will hold discussions with leaders of all student organizations on Sunday.
The meeting, scheduled for 10:00am at the Vice Chancellor’s conference room, will cover candidates’ conduct and discipline codes.
The commission will finalize the code based on feedback. It will also seek opinions on adding or removing provisions, including the mandatory dope test for candidates.
Chief Election Commissioner Professor Dr. Mostafa Hasan issued a notice inviting presidents and general secretaries of all active student organizations, as well as presidents and secretaries of the Journalists Association, Press Club, and Reporters Unit.
Professor Dr. Mostafa Hasan said, “We have a discussion meeting on Sunday. Our election will be clean. We want to gift students a beautiful JnUCSU election. We’ve made a preliminary decision on dope tests, but it’s quite expensive.”
He added, “We haven’t set any date yet. We’ll decide after thorough consideration. We’ll announce the schedule on Monday after discussions with stakeholders. We’ve prepared a proposal.”
