UAP Holds Freshers’ Orientation for Spring-2026

The University of Asia Pacific (UAP) organized a freshers’ orientation program on Saturday (July 25) to welcome the newly enrolled students of the Spring-2026 semester.

Alamzeb Farjad Ahmed, Senior Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT) at UAP, attended the event as the chief guest, while Acting Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmed Bhuiyan chaired the program.

Welcoming the incoming batch, Alamzeb Farjad Ahmed encouraged students to pursue academic excellence with discipline, integrity, and self-confidence. He assured them of the trustee board's full support in maintaining a quality learning environment.

Dr. Mohammad Kaykobad, Distinguished Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at BRAC University, and Syed Ershad Ahmed, Deputy Chairman and Vice President of MAC Holdings (Private) Limited, attended the orientation as special guests.

Dr. Kaykobad advised the freshers to stay curious, cultivate critical thinking, and make full use of university resources. Syed Ershad Ahmed highlighted the value of active participation in co-curricular activities to develop essential leadership, teamwork, and career skills.

In his presidential address, Acting VC Prof. Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmed Bhuiyan congratulated the students and urged them to remain committed to discipline, integrity, and lifelong learning.

During the administrative briefing, UAP Registrar Brig. Gen. (Retd.) Prof. Dr. A. K. M. Nazrul Islam and Proctor Prof. Dr. Aloke Kumar Saha shared essential institutional rules and regulations with the students. Acting Director of the Directorate of Students’ Welfare (DSW), Mohammad Rakiv, introduced the freshers to the university's student clubs and extra-curricular activities.

Deans from various faculties—including Prof. Dr. Sayeed M. Ahmed (School of Environmental Sciences and Design), Prof. Dr. M. A. Baqui Khalily (School of Business), and Prof. Dr. Mohammad Shahriar (School of Pharmacy)—also addressed the gathering.

The event was attended by department heads, faculty members, administrative staff, freshers, and their guardians. The orientation concluded with an interactive discussion between parents and university authorities to address academic expectations and strengthen home-university collaboration.
