The personal Facebook profile of Hasnat Abdullah, Chief Organiser of the South Region for the National Citizens' Party (NCP), has been disabled.

Hasnat Abdullah himself confirmed the matter during a live session on his verified Facebook page on Tuesday (6 January).

In the video message, Hasnat Abdullah stated: “My personal profile named ‘Hasnat Abdullah’ was disabled quite some time ago. Due to my anti-India stance and some subsequent posts, it was disabled through copyright claims.”

He further explained: “Because my ID was blocked, I couldn’t stay connected with all of you over the past few days. From now on, I will remain active regularly through this page. Until now, this page was mainly managed by the admins.”

Addressing his supporters, Hasnat Abdullah urged: “To ensure my words and news reach everyone, please share this page.”

Hasnat Abdullah rose to prominence during the July mass uprising in 2024 and later joined the newly formed NCP. His outspoken position on various national and international issues, including criticism of India, has often made him a target of online restrictions and controversies.

The disabling of his personal profile follows a pattern of account restrictions faced by several activists and public figures in recent months due to content-related claims.

Hasnat has now shifted all communication and updates to his verified public page to continue engaging with supporters and the public.
