An assistant teacher at Gopal Nagar Mahila Dakhil Madrasah in Comilla’s Chouddagram upazila is facing severe obstacles in joining his new workplace due to non-cooperation from the acting principal. Md. Khairul Islam, who teaches Bengali, was appointed through the NTRCA’s June 16, 2025 recruitment drive and joined the institution on September 1 of that year.

Following a ministry directive issued on July 30, 2026, by the Technical and Madrasah Education Division, Khairul was transferred on attachment to Nishchitpur D.S. Islamia Kamil Madrasa in Chandpur's Kachua upazila. However, acting principal Md. Shah Alam has repeatedly delayed providing the mandatory release letter and necessary documents required for him to join the new post.

The affected teacher stated that the principal initially demanded unnecessary permissions from the Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Secondary Education Officer. Although both local officials confirmed that no such approval was required and instructed the principal to hand over the papers, the administration continued stalling him across multiple days through August 12.

When contacted by journalists regarding the delay, acting principal Shah Alam abruptly disconnected the phone upon hearing media credentials and remained unreachable thereafter. Meanwhile, Chouddagram Upazila Secondary Education Officer A.K.M. Mir Hossain noted that had they been formally notified of the withholding, immediate administrative steps would have been taken.
