RAW Chief Concludes Dhaka Visit
Parag Jain, Secretary of the Research and Analysis Wing, wrapped up his high-level security engagements and left the capital on a 3:30 p.m. Indigo flight on Monday afternoon. Jain had arrived in Dhaka on Sunday afternoon, leading a four-member high-level delegation at the invitation of their Bangladeshi counterparts, though neither government officially disclosed the details of the visit.
Jain, a 1989-batch Indian Police Service officer and the 25th secretary of RAW succeeding Ravi Sinha, traveled to Bangladesh following a prior visit to China. According to a government official speaking on condition of anonymity, the Indian delegation stayed at a city hotel, with the visit aiming to advance and normalize bilateral relations within the security sector.
The visit took place against the backdrop of renewed diplomatic engagement between Dhaka and New Delhi. Concurrently, Indian High Commissioner Dinesh Trivedi also departed Dhaka for Delhi on Monday afternoon after holding formal meetings with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed.
