324 Students Expelled, Madrasah Board Tops in Malpractice Cases

A total of 324 students were expelled across the country during the 2026 Secondary School Certificate and equivalent examinations, according to data released following the official publication of results on Monday, August 10. Education and Primary and Mass Education Minister Dr. ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon officially unveiled the examination outcomes at the Ministry of Education conference room, where regional board chairpersons formally handed over their respective statistical reports.

Disciplinary infractions varied significantly across the eleven education boards, highlighting contrasting enforcement rates between general, technical, and religious educational streams. The Madrasah Education Board accounted for the highest number of expulsions by a substantial margin, with 142 Dakhil candidates penalized for rule violations. The Technical Education Board followed as the second-highest sector, recording 59 student expulsions.

Among the nine general regional education boards, Barishal registered the highest disciplinary actions with 24 expulsions, followed by Mymensingh with 17 cases. The Dhaka, Jashore, and Dinajpur education boards each documented 15 student expulsions, while Chattogram and Rajshahi recorded 10 cases each.

The lowest disciplinary tallies were observed in the Sylhet and Cumilla education boards, which logged 9 and 8 expulsions respectively, completing the nationwide breakdown of examination malpractice measures for the 2026 academic cycle.
