226 Madrasahs Record Zero Pass in Dakhil 2026 Exams

Official results released on Monday morning revealed that a cumulative total of 312 educational institutions failed to secure any passes in this year's public examinations. Among these, the Madrasah Education Board accounted for 226 institutions where every participating student failed, highlighting a severe academic setback within the religious education stream.

According to data unveiled following the official publication at 10:00 a.m. on August 10, zero-pass institutions extended beyond the madrasah sector. A total of 57 institutions under the nine general education boards and 29 institutions under the Technical Education Board also recorded zero successful candidates, alongside one overseas examination center.

The nationwide examinations for 2026 saw a total participation of 1,829,485 students across the country's eleven education boards. Out of the total examinees, 1,138,877 students successfully passed, while 690,608 candidates failed. The overall average pass rate settled at 62.25 percent, marking a decline from the 68.45 percent recorded in the previous year. Meanwhile, 116,676 students achieved the highest grade point of GPA-5.

Performance metrics varied widely across regional and specialized boards. The Dhaka Education Board secured the highest pass rate among regional boards at 71.63 percent, while the Mymensingh Education Board recorded the lowest position.

Board-wise distribution showed pass rates of 66.27 percent for Jashore, 65.42 percent for Cumilla, 63.67 percent for Rajshahi, 60.35 percent for Barishal, 59.48 percent for Chattogram, 58.33 percent for Sylhet, 58.05 percent for Dinajpur, and 58.20 percent for the Technical Education Board. The Madrasah Education Board recorded an average pass rate of 55.49 percent.
