Police Block Shibir Entry to Dhaka Alia Madrasah as Chhatra Dal Activists Remain Inside
Police on Saturday afternoon established a security barricade on Bakshibazar Road in the capital, blocking leaders of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir and residential students from entering Government Madrasah-e-Alia.
The confrontation unfolded around 12:00 PM following a pre-announced program by students and Chhatra Shibir leaders who sought to access the campus residential halls. Concurrently, members of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal were seen maintaining a presence inside the madrasah premises.
Due to the police intervention and road closure, incoming vehicular traffic through Bakshibazar Road was completely halted, though vehicles were permitted to exit the campus grounds. Law enforcement officials have not yet issued a detailed statement regarding the security measures or the ongoing campus tension.
