49th BCS Preliminary Results Likely Today?
The results of the 49th (Special) BCS Preliminary Examination may be published today, Sunday (October 19). The Public Service Commission (PSC) is working towards this goal. If everything proceeds as planned, the results could be announced in the afternoon or evening. The viva voce for this special BCS is scheduled to commence on October 26.
A PSC source confirmed this to The Daily Campus on Sunday. The source stated that everyone is currently engaged with the viva voce process for the 45th BCS. A decision regarding the preliminary results is expected later in the afternoon. The results may be published by this afternoon or evening, though the timeline is not final.
As per the commission’s decision, the viva voce for this special BCS will begin on October 26. The evaluation, verification, and cross-checking of the MCQ-type written examination answer scripts have been completed. PSC officials noted that there is no room for delay in publishing the results if the viva voce is to start on schedule. Consequently, efforts are underway to expedite the announcement of the written examination results.
The notification for this special BCS, aimed at recruiting for the general education cadre, was published on July 21 this year. The MCQ-type written examination took place on October 10. A total of 176,670 candidates appeared for the exam, with an attendance rate of 56.49 percent.
According to the published notification, appointments will be made to 683 posts through this special BCS for the education sector. Over 312,000 candidates applied, with an average of approximately 456 applicants per post.
