Nusraat Faria Freed from Jail, Shares Heartfelt Thanks on Social Media

Popular film star Nusraat Faria walked free from Kashimpur Women’s Central Jail in Gazipur at around 3:30 pm today, Tuesday, after securing bail in a high-profile attempt-to-murder case.
In a heartfelt Facebook post at 4:20 pm, Nusraat expressed her gratitude, saying, “Heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported me through this tough time. I’m not well enough to talk today, but I’ll be back with you all soon, fully recovered.” She avoided media interactions upon release, letting her social media speak for her.
The Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) court granted her bail earlier today, with the paperwork reaching the jail by noon. After verification, she was reunited with her family.
Nusraat was detained on Sunday morning at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport by immigration police while heading to Thailand. She was questioned by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Detective Branch (DB) in connection with a case filed by Enamul Haque, who was injured during a mass uprising in Bhatara on 19 July. The case, lodged on 3 May, names 283 individuals, including 17 actors and actresses, with Nusraat among the accused.
