Dr. Zainul Abedin Siddique appointed as new VC of RMSTU

Professor Dr. Zainul Abedin Siddique of the Department of Chemistry at Chittagong University has been appointed as the new Vice-Chancellor of Rangamati Science and Technology University (RMSTU).

The appointment was confirmed through a notification issued on Thursday (May 14) by the Science and Technology University branch of the Secondary and Higher Education Division under the Ministry of Education.

According to the notification, the appointment was made by the Honorable President and Chancellor in accordance with Section 10(1) of the Rangamati Science and Technology University Act, 2001.

As per the terms of the appointment, Dr. Siddique will serve for a tenure of four years starting from the date of joining. During his term as Vice-Chancellor, he will receive the same salary and benefits as his current position. Additionally, as the Chief Executive Officer of the university, he is required to reside on campus full-time. The notification further noted that the Honorable President and Chancellor reserves the authority to cancel the appointment at any time if necessary.

Professor Dr. Zainul Abedin Siddique previously served as the Treasurer of Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University in Trishal, Mymensingh. He is widely respected among students and faculty members as an experienced and prominent educator.
