Chatra Dal Takes Disciplinary Action Against Three GSTU Leaders After Clash

Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chatra Dal (JCD) central committee has issued show-cause notices to three leaders of its Gopalganj Science and Technology University (GSTU) branch, asking why they should not face permanent expulsion for breaching organizational discipline.

The notice, signed by central office secretary (vice-president rank) Md. Jahangir Alam, was issued on Sunday (22 February). The recipients are:

• Branch Vice-President Zahirul Islam
• Senior Joint General Secretary Shahriar Galib
• Publicity Secretary Nahidur Rahman Sakib

The notice states that while holding responsible positions in the branch, they allegedly violated organizational discipline. They have been directed to appear in person at the central office within 48 hours, in the presence of the central president and general secretary, to submit a written explanation. The action was taken under directives from central president Rakibul Islam Rakib and general secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir.

This follows Saturday’s clash between two factions of Chatra Dal at GSTU over the change of Proctor. Publicity Secretary Nahidur Rahman Sakib and Vice-President Zahirul Islam Zahir were injured in the incident.
