The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Sylhet, has issued show-cause notices to four teachers holding them responsible for the errors and discrepancies identified in the ongoing Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) Physics First Paper examination.

The official notices were served on Tuesday (July 14), under the signature of Professor Bilkis Yasmin, the Controller of Examinations of the Sylhet Education Board.

The administrative action follows countrywide student demonstrations and intense scrutiny in the National Parliament regarding multiple errors found in Monday’s (July 13) Physics test paper. Earlier today, Education Minister Dr. A N M Ehsanul Hoque Milon acknowledged in a parliamentary session that questions 6 and 7 of the Physics First Paper contained undeniable technical faults, subsequent to which the ministry declared that all appearing candidates would be awarded full marks for those specific questions.

Board sources indicated that the four accused teachers, who were part of the question preparation and moderation panels, have been directed to submit formal written explanations within a stipulated timeframe detailing how the discrepancies went unnoticed during the final printing authorization.
