Term Extended for Chairs of Non-Govt School, College Committees

The tenure of chairpersons of managing committees and governing bodies in non-government schools and colleges has been extended. Under the new decision, they can continue performing their duties until 31 March.

The directive was issued by the Ministry of Education on Monday (2 March). It was signed by Shirin Akter, Senior Assistant Secretary of the Secondary and Higher Education Division.

The notification states: “The term for performing the duties of chairperson of the managing committee or governing body of non-government educational institutions is hereby extended until 31 March. At the same time, necessary arrangements should be made for payment of the government portion of salary (MPO) along with the portion of salary and allowances provided from the school or college fund, under the signature of the assigned chairperson.”

It further adds: “Instructions regarding the formation of regular or ad hoc committees for the institutions will be issued later.”
