All bus services on the Dhaka-Mymensingh route have been halted following a clash between anti-discrimination student activists and transport workers over the alleged harassment of a July warrior at Mymensingh's Maskanda bus stand area. Long-distance passengers are facing severe inconvenience. Without any prior announcement, transport workers stopped all services from Sunday morning.

Transport workers said services from Mymensingh division, including Mymensingh, Netrokona, Sherpur, Jamalpur and Kishoreganj, to Dhaka have been suspended since Sunday morning.

Police sources said the incident occurred late Friday (October 10) when July warrior Abu Raihan was boarding a bus at Haluaghat. Transport worker Arun Jhantu was allegedly pushed, leading to a heated exchange. Despite Raihan's repeated apologies, Jhantu reportedly used abusive language and forced him off the bus.

From 9:00pm, anti-discrimination movement leaders and activists began protesting at the United Service counter at Maskanda bus stand in Mymensingh city. Police later arrested Arun Jhantu.

On Saturday (October 11) around 11:00am, transport workers retaliated by blocking the city's bypass road, halting all buses from Mymensingh, Netrokona, Sherpur and Jamalpur to Dhaka. Passengers were left stranded.
