HSC and equivalent examination results will be published at 11am on October 31. Students must now send SMS requests to 16140 instead of the previous number, 16222, to check their results.

The results of this year's Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations will be published at 11am today, Saturday (October 31). Education Minister Dr ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon will inaugurate the result publication process at a programme at the Secretariat organised by the Ministry of Education. Immediately after the inauguration, results will be published simultaneously online and through the respective educational institutions.

The announcement will end the wait of 1,270,583 candidates under the country's 11 education boards, who have been waiting for around two and a half months. However, a number of candidates remained absent from the examinations.

The 2026 HSC and equivalent examinations began on July 2. Written examinations were scheduled to end on August 8, but some examinations under several education boards, including the Chattogram Board, were postponed due to natural disasters and floods and were held later. Practical examinations were completed by August 15.

The Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee said results would be published online and through educational institutions immediately after the education minister inaugurates the publication programme. Educational institutions will be able to download their respective result sheets, while candidates can also obtain their results through SMS.

All educational institutions concerned must collect the results published by the education boards through eduboardresults.gov.bd and educationboardresults.gov.bd. Institutions have been advised to visit the Result section of either website, select the relevant board and enter their institution's EIIN to download and publish the results.

Candidates can also collect their results from their respective educational institutions. They will be available through the common education board websites, eduboardresults.gov.bd and educationboardresults.gov.bd, as well as the websites of the respective education boards.

The education boards have changed the SMS number for checking HSC results this year. In previous years, students could obtain their results by sending an SMS to 16222. In 2026, they must send their requests to the new number, 16140.

Candidates can send an SMS to 16140 from any mobile phone number to receive their results. To do so, they must type HSC, the first three letters of their education board's name, their roll number and the examination year, and send the message to 16140.

For example, a candidate under the Dhaka Board should type: HSC Dha 123456 2026 and send it to 16140.

The Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee also said results would not be available at education boards, the Ministry of Education or newspaper offices.

Applications for re-scrutiny of results will be accepted online from November 1 to November 7. The application process and relevant instructions have been published on the websites of the education boards.
