HSC Results to Be Published on October 31
The results of this year's Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations will be published on October 31. The education boards are expected to provide detailed information on the publication process within the next few hours. A meeting is scheduled to be held at the Ministry of Education on Tuesday afternoon to discuss the matter.
A responsible source at the Ministry of Education told The Daily Campus on Tuesday, October 27, that complications arose over obtaining Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's approval for the publication of the results. Under the revised decision, the results will be published on Saturday, October 31.
An official of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee said the results would not be published on October 29, as previously announced. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is scheduled to return to the country on the night of October 29, after which his approval will be sought to publish the results on October 31. According to the source, the result publication event will be held at the International Mother Language Institute in Segunbagicha, Dhaka.
Earlier, the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee had planned to issue a press release on Monday, October 26, announcing the publication date. However, the committee later withdrew that decision. Sources at the ministry and the education boards said the release could not be issued because the prime minister had not been briefed on the matter.
According to information available, a notice signed by Professor Syed Akhtaruzzaman, president of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee and chairman of the Dhaka Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, was issued on Saturday night, October 24. It stated that the HSC and equivalent examination results would be published on Thursday, October 29. Detailed information about the results was scheduled to be announced through a press release on October 26, but that decision has since been revised.
This year's HSC and equivalent examinations began on July 2. Written examinations were scheduled to conclude on August 8, but several examinations under the Chattogram Education Board could not be held as planned due to natural disasters. The postponed examinations were held later, and the board's written examinations concluded on September 9.
A total of 1,270,583 regular and irregular candidates took part in this year's examinations.
