The results of this year's Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations may be published in October, as the evaluation of answer scripts is being expedited.

Professor Syed Akhtaruzzaman, president of the Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee and chairman of the Dhaka Education Board, told The Daily Campus on Monday (October 12) that the results could be published between October 25 and 29.

He said a proposal had been sent to the Ministry of Education to select a possible publication date within that period.

This year's HSC and equivalent examinations began on July 2 and ended on August 8. Practical examinations were scheduled to be completed by August 15. However, several written examinations under the Chattogram Education Board could not be held on schedule due to natural disasters. After the postponed examinations were held, the board's written examinations concluded on September 9.

A total of 1,270,583 students from 9,439 educational institutions appeared in this year's HSC and equivalent examinations under 11 education boards across the country. Examinations were held at 2,697 centres nationwide.

Among the general education boards, the Dhaka Education Board had the highest number of candidates, with 300,393 students taking the examinations at 310 centres.

Meanwhile, 73,037 students appeared under the Mymensingh Education Board, 71,711 under Sylhet and 58,664 under Barishal.
