An examination committee convenor has been relieved of his duties after the top portion of OMR sheets belonging to 21 candidates went missing following the HSC Economics 2nd Paper exam at Gopalpur Government College center in Tangail.

The incident occurred on Saturday (July 25) when Lecturer Md. Mozammel Hossain, convenor of the center's exam management committee, was transporting sealed packets of answer scripts and OMR sheets by rickshaw to the local post office for dispatch. Upon arrival, he discovered that the primary OMR sections of 21 creative essay scripts were missing.

Confirming the incident, Acting Principal of Gopalpur Government College Manikuzzaman stated that the matter was immediately reported in writing to the Controller of Examinations at the Dhaka Education Board to ensure candidates face no academic complications.

He clarified that the evaluation process will not be disrupted, as the second and third sections of the OMR form remain attached to the physical answer scripts, and candidate roll and registration details are fully recorded on the official attendance sheets.

Gopalpur Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Monjurul Morshed confirmed that Mozammel Hossain has been removed from his examination responsibilities. A three-member investigation committee, headed by Senior Fisheries Officer Sourav Kumar, has been formed to inquire into the matter and submit a report.
