The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations under the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Chittagong, scheduled for Wednesday, July 8, were postponed due to the ongoing flood situation and adverse weather conditions across the country. While the official fresh date for the suspended examination has not yet been determined, authorities indicated that the postponed test is highly likely to be held after the completion of all other previously scheduled examinations.

Chittagong Education Board Controller of Examinations Professor Dr. Parvez Sajjad Choudhury told The Daily Campus on Wednesday afternoon that since the suspension was announced very recently, a new date is yet to be fixed. He explained that standard procedure dictates holding postponed examinations only after the routine schedule concludes, adding that the official decision will be formally notified as soon as it is finalized.

Regarding the upcoming compulsory Information and Communication Technology (ICT) examination scheduled for Saturday, July 11, the exam controller mentioned that they have already consulted with the meteorological office, which predicted that the weather situation might normalize after Thursday. He further stated that any final decision regarding Saturday's examination will be taken after assessing the ground reality in coordination with district administrators, the ministry, and other relevant stakeholders.

While the exams were suspended in the port city and adjacent districts, the HSC and equivalent examinations under all other general education boards across the country were held as per the original schedule on Wednesday. The initial suspension directive was issued on Tuesday evening in a press release signed by Professor Syed Ashfaquzzaman, President of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee and Chairman of the Dhaka Education Board, following official reports submitted by the respective deputy commissioners regarding the severity of the local flood crisis.
