Purnima Reveals She Received a Letter from Prime Minister Tarique Rahman
Renowned Bangladeshi actress Purnima has revealed that she once received a letter from current Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
She disclosed this information during a recent podcast appearance.
Purnima said that in 2003, after watching her movie Moner Majhe Tumi with her family at the Garrison Cinema Hall in Dhaka Cantonment, Tarique Rahman sent her a letter expressing his appreciation.
She recounted, “At that time, he wrote a letter mentioning the names of all the cast members of Moner Majhe Tumi and sent his best wishes. He wrote that movies like this should be made regularly. He also expressed his hope that we could maintain the continuity of good work.”
Purnima mentioned that since there were no social media platforms at the time, her mother showed the letter to some journalist friends.
She also shared that she was not the first choice for her debut film E Jibon Tomar Amar. She was cast only after another actress declined the role.
