Epstein Files
Claim of Modi dancing and singing in Israel to please Trump
The US Department of Justice has released a massive trove of documents related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. On Friday (30 January), nearly 3 million pages of documents, 180,000 photographs and around 2,000 videos were made public.
Among the newly released files is an email that mentions Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The email refers to Modi’s 2017 visit to Israel.
According to a report by the Israeli newspaper Jerusalem Post, the email claims that Modi sought advice from Epstein on how to please then-US President Donald Trump. Epstein himself allegedly made this assertion in the email.
In the message, Epstein reportedly wrote that he advised Modi to visit Israel, saying it would satisfy the US president. He further claimed that following this advice, Modi travelled to Israel in 2017 and “danced and sang” there. The email states that the two had met a few weeks earlier and that the suggestion proved effective.
The 2017 visit was the first by an Indian prime minister to Israel since the country established diplomatic relations in 1992.
The email reportedly reads: “The Indian prime minister took advice and went to Israel to dance and sing to please the US president. They had met a few weeks earlier. The advice worked.”
India’s Ministry of External Affairs has categorically rejected the claims. In an official statement, the ministry said that apart from the fact of Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Israel in July 2017, all other assertions in the email are “baseless and vile fantasies of a convicted criminal”. The ministry described the allegations as deserving “utmost contempt and rejection”.
