Jagannath University Sets Admission Test Dates, Applications Open November 15

JnU has finalized its undergrad admission test schedule for the 2026–2027 academic session, with online applications set to open on November 15 and entrance tests commencing on January 1, 2027.

Jagannath University (JnU) has announced the detailed timeline and eligibility criteria for its undergraduate and BBA first-year admissions for the 2026–2027 academic session. Online applications will run from November 15 at 12:00 PM through December 10 at 11:59 PM.

The decisions were finalized on Sunday during the 80th meeting of the university's Academic Council, chaired by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Raisuddin at the VC’s office conference room. The meeting was attended by Treasurer Professor Dr. Sabina Sharmin, Registrar Professor Dr. Md. Sheikh Gias Uddin, faculty deans, department chairmen, institute directors, and other key officials.

Admission tests will be conducted across five distinct units using Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with all examinations taking place in Dhaka. Central and unit-based admission committees have been formed to ensure a smooth and coordinated selection process.

Exam Schedule by Unit

  • Unit-A (Science & Life and Earth Sciences): January 1, 2027 (Friday)

  • Unit-E (Fine Arts): January 8, 2027 (Friday)

  • Unit-B (Arts & Law): January 15, 2027 (Friday)

  • Unit-C (Business Studies): January 22, 2027 (Friday)

  • Unit-D (Social Sciences): January 23, 2027 (Saturday)

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have passed their Secondary School Certificate (SSC) or equivalent examinations in 2023 or 2024, and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or equivalent examinations in 2026. Minimum GPA requirements vary by faculty:

  • Unit-A: Total minimum GPA of 7.00, with no individual GPA below 3.00.

  • Unit-B: Total minimum GPA of 6.00, with no individual GPA below 2.75.

  • Unit-C: Total minimum GPA of 6.50, with no individual GPA below 3.00.

  • Unit-D: Total minimum GPA of 6.00, with no individual GPA below 2.75.

  • Unit-E: Total minimum GPA of 5.50, with no individual GPA below 2.50.

Following the completion of the admission process, academic classes for the new 2026–2027 session are officially scheduled to begin on April 4, 2027.
