The first-year undergraduate Honors admission test for the 2025-2026 academic session at National University was successfully completed today, Saturday, April 25. The examination was held from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM across 138 designated centers nationwide. This session is particularly significant as it marks the return of a competitive written examination alongside academic results to determine student eligibility.

The Humanities Unit examination consisted of a 100-mark Multiple Choice Question paper with a time limit of one hour. The marks were distributed across four key segments. Bangla and English sections each carried 20 marks, while the General Knowledge section covering both Bangladesh and International affairs also carried 20 marks. The remaining 40 marks were allocated to group-specific subjects such as Civics, Economics, Logic, and Geography.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. A.S.M. Amanullah confirmed that while 475,432 students initially applied, a total of 453,148 candidates finalized their applications and participated in the test. Statistics show that approximately two students competed for every available seat. To pass the examination, a candidate must secure at least 35 marks out of 100. Notably, there was no negative marking for incorrect answers in this year's test.

The final merit list will be calculated out of 200 marks. This will be determined by combining the 100 marks from today's entrance exam with the weighted GPA results from previous academic levels, where the SSC GPA accounts for 40 percent and the HSC GPA accounts for 60 percent of the institutional score. University authorities have stated that they are working to publish the primary merit list as quickly as possible through the official admission portal.

Detailed solutions and further analysis of the Humanities Unit question paper will be updated on The Daily Campus website shortly for the benefit of the examinees.
