SUST admission test begins today, to be held in Dhaka and Sylhet
The admission test for the first-year honours classes in the 2025-26 academic year at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) begins today. The admission battle of SUST will start through the ‘A’ unit test from 3 pm today Tuesday (January 13) at 18 centres in Dhaka and Sylhet. Around 53 students will compete for each seat.
This was confirmed by admission committee president Professor Dr Ahmed Kabir Chowdhury at a press conference held at the university’s IQAC building yesterday Monday (January 12) afternoon.
He said 52,823 candidates will appear for 985 seats in ‘A’ unit in the 2025-26 admission test. Thus, 53.63 candidates are competing for each seat. This year, there are 955 seats in A-1 (Science) unit and 30 seats in A-2 (Science and Architecture). In ‘B’ unit, a total of 22,272 candidates have applied for 581 seats. Thus, around 38 candidates will compete for each seat.
He further said the A-1 unit test will be held from 3 pm to 4:30 pm at 18 centres in Dhaka and Sylhet on January 13. After the A-1 unit test, the A-2 unit test will be held on SUST campus. In A-1 unit, 43,237 candidates will appear in Dhaka centres and 9,586 in Sylhet. On the other hand, the ‘B’ unit admission test will be held on January 14 at 3 pm.
Besides Dhaka University campus, the 12 centres in Dhaka are: Nilkhet High School, Engineering University School and College (BUET), University Laboratory School and College, Government College of Applied Human Science, Azimpur Government Girls School and College, University Women’s Federation College, Government Teachers Training College, BTCL Ideal School, Siddheswari Girls College, Siddheswari Boys Higher Secondary School, Rayhan School and College and Magbazar Girls High School.
Besides SUST campus in Sylhet, the four centres are: Patantula Jamea, Mirabazar Jamea, Agragami Girls High School and Ambarkhana Girls High School.
