HSTU admission test schedule published: Know unit-wise dates, shifts and seats
The admission test schedule for the first-year honours classes in the 2026 academic year at Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University (HSTU) has been published. This information was conveyed in a notice signed by university Registrar (additional charge) Professor Dr Md Abu Hasan on Monday (January 12).
According to the notice, admission tests for A, B, C and D units will be held on January 26, 27 and 28 respectively. Know the unit-wise schedule, faculties and number of applications:
‘A’ Unit (January 26) Students will be admitted in faculties related to Agriculture, Fisheries and Veterinary through this unit. A-1 Shift: 9:30 am to 11 am (10,092 candidates). A-2 Shift: 11:30 am to 1 pm (10,092 candidates). A-3 Shift: 2 pm to 3:30 pm (10,091 candidates). Total successful applicants in the unit: 30,275. Subjects and seats in ‘A’ unit: Agriculture (Honours) 375, Fisheries (Honours) 80 and Veterinary and Animal Science (DVM) 80.
‘B’ Unit (January 27) Students will be admitted in Engineering, Architecture and Science faculties through this unit. B-1 Shift: 9:30 am to 11 am (8,854 candidates). B-2 Shift: 11:30 am to 1 pm (8,854 candidates). B-3 Shift: 2 pm to 3:30 pm (8,854 candidates). Successful applicants in the unit: 26,562. Drawing test for Architecture will be held from 4 pm to 5:30 pm. Candidates: 1,250. Subjects and seats in ‘B’ unit: Computer Science and Engineering 60, Electronics and Communication Engineering 60, Electrical and Electronic Engineering 60, Food and Process Engineering 60, Agricultural Engineering 60, Civil Engineering 50, Mechanical Engineering 50, Architecture 30, Chemistry (Honours) 75, Physics (Honours) 75, Mathematics (Honours) 80 and Statistics (Honours) 80.
‘C’ Unit (January 28) Students will be admitted in Business Education, Social Science and Humanities faculties through this unit. Time: 9:30 am to 11 am. Number of applicants: Business Education group 3,116, Science and Humanities group 17,533. Subjects and seats in the unit: Accounting and Information Systems 70, Finance 70, Management 70, Marketing 70, English (Honours) 70, Economics (Honours) 70, Sociology (Honours) 60 and Development Studies 40.
‘D’ Unit (January 28) Students from Humanities, Science and Business Studies groups will be admitted through this unit. D-1 Shift: 11:30 am to 1 pm (8,767 candidates). D-2 Shift: 2 pm to 3:30 pm (8,766 candidates). D-3 Shift: 4 pm to 5:30 pm (9,564 candidates).
This year, total successful applicants excluding Architecture stand at 93,125 while including Architecture the figure is 94,375. The university has a total of 1,795 seats.
