Medical-Dental Admission Test Results Published, Pass Rate 66.57 Percent
The results of the admission test for government and private medical and dental colleges for the 2025-26 academic session have been published. The results were released this Sunday (14 December) afternoon. This year, the pass rate stands at 66.57 percent.
A total of 1,20,440 candidates appeared for the admission test (98.21%). The number of absent candidates was 2,192 (1.79%). And the number of expelled candidates was 2.
The total number of successful candidates in the admission test is 81,642 (66.57%), of which male candidates are 31,128 (38.13%) and female candidates are 50,514 (61.87%).
Among the candidates who appeared for the Higher Secondary Examination in 2025, the number of successful candidates is 3,850. Among the candidates who appeared in the mentioned examination in previous years, the number of successful candidates is 1,707, of whom 88 candidates are currently studying in various government medical colleges and dental colleges last year.
According to the information in the admission circular, the processing of application forms, scrutiny, evaluation of answer sheets, finalisation of results and re-scrutiny have been completed through digital process. The answer sheets were checked by 'OMR or ICR' machine. For admission to government medical colleges or dental colleges and units, seats have been allocated in general seats and reserved seats according to the national merit and preference order of the candidates.
Candidates have been selected on merit basis from among the claimants of reserved seats and their respective categories. The authority has automatically determined which college a selected candidate will be admitted to, based on the merit position obtained by the candidate and college preference. By visiting the website of the Directorate General of Health Services, click on the 'MBBS Result 2025-2026' link and enter the admission test roll number. Then click on the 'Result' button to view the result. Aspiring candidates can download it or take a screenshot. The merit list has also been published in PDF format on the website.
Earlier, the Director General (DG) of the Directorate General of Medical Education along with concerned officials sat in a meeting. Professor Dr. Sayedur Rahman, Special Assistant to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, was present in it. Besides, the Secretary of Health Education, two Joint Secretaries, the DG of the Directorate, ADG (Medical Education), Director (Medical Education) and representatives from the Computer Science Department of BUET-DU participated in it.
On Friday (12 December) from 10 am to 11:15 am, the MBBS and BDS admission test for government and private medical colleges for the 2025-26 academic session was held simultaneously at 17 centres and 49 venues across the country. More than 98 percent students were present in this test, said Professor Dr. Mohiuddin Matubbor, Director (Medical Education) of the Directorate General of Medical Education.
On Friday, he said the admission test was overall fair. 98.22 percent aspiring students were present in the test. The absence rate was 1.78 percent.
It may be mentioned that there are a total of 13,051 seats in government and private medical and dental colleges. Of these, there are 5,100 seats in government medical colleges and 545 seats in dental units. There are 6,001 seats in private medical colleges and 1,405 seats in dental colleges.
This year, the total number of applicants was 1,22,632. Of whom 49,028 applicants were boys and 73,604 were girls.
