Officials meeting ongoing over medical-dental admission test results

Officials are holding a meeting to finalise the results of the admission test for government and private medical and dental colleges for the 2025-26 academic session.
A source from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said the results are likely to be published today, Sunday (14 December), after 2:30 pm, with preparations underway for release between 2:00 pm and 2:30 pm if everything goes smoothly.
The source added that the DGHS director general and other relevant officials are attending the meeting.
Earlier, Additional Director General (Medical Education) Prof Dr Rubina Yasmin said on Sunday morning that the exact time for publication has not yet been fixed, but she expects it around noon, with the website updated accordingly.
Later in the afternoon, Prof Dr Rubina Yasmin, who is also member secretary of the admission committee, confirmed that the DGHS is working towards publishing the results within the next couple of hours.
On Saturday (13 December), DGHS Director General Prof Dr Nazmul Hossain said result preparation is ongoing in coordination with BUET and the Computer Science Department of Dhaka University, involving a large volume of answer sheet evaluation. He expressed hope for publication after noon on Sunday.
The MBBS and BDS admission test was held simultaneously on Friday (12 December) from 10:00 am to 11:15 am at 17 centres and 49 venues nationwide.
Director (Medical Education) Prof Dr Mohiuddin Matubbar said over 98 percent of candidates attended, with a 98.22 percent attendance rate and 1.78 percent absence. The test was conducted smoothly overall, with results to be published soon.
A total of 13,051 seats are available — 5,100 in government medical colleges, 545 in dental units, 6,001 in private medical colleges, and 1,405 in private dental colleges.
This year saw 122,632 applicants, comprising 49,028 males and 73,604 females.
