RUET Admission Exam 2025 on 23 January, BUET Selected as Key Centre

Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET) will conduct its first-year undergraduate admission test for the 2025-26 academic session on 23 January next. For the first time, the test will take place at two centres, RUET and BUET, using the same question paper.

The decision was taken at the 154th (emergency) Academic Council meeting of RUET, chaired by Vice-Chancellor and Academic Council President Professor Dr SM Abdur Razzak.

To facilitate students, the admission test will also be held at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) centre this year along with RUET. The 2025-26 undergraduate admission test will be conducted in MCQ format. Around 19,000 students will get the opportunity to appear for the test against more than 1,200 seats at RUET.

To be eligible for the 2025-26 admission test, a candidate must have passed SSC or equivalent examination in 2022 or 2023 from any Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, Madrasa Education Board or Technical Education Board of Bangladesh with at least GPA 4.00 or equivalent grade.

The candidate must also have passed HSC or equivalent examination in 2025 from any of the above boards with minimum GPA 5.00 or equivalent grade, along with a minimum total GP-14 in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

For candidates who have passed GCE ‘O’ Level and ‘A’ Level, they must have at least ‘B’ grade in a minimum of five subjects in ‘O’ Level and at least ‘B’ grade separately in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in ‘A’ Level. The ‘A’ Level certificate must be obtained in November 2024 or later.

Any decision related to the admission test will be taken in the meeting of the Steering Committee constituted for the purpose.
