The Directorate of Technical Education has completed collecting information on vacant posts for the transfer of technical education teachers, with around 2,140 institutions reporting vacancies.

The directorate collected the information in several phases and has now published the vacancy data on its website. Officials are preparing to complete software-related verification before setting a date for teachers to apply for transfers.

An official of the Directorate of Technical Education told The Daily Campus that the vacancy information has already been uploaded and the entire process will now be checked with the software team. If no problems are found, the directorate will announce a date for accepting transfer applications.

“We will sit with the software team. If there are no problems after receiving the report, we will set a date.”

The official said the software team’s report would then be discussed with the director general responsible for the process. A schedule for submitting transfer applications could be finalised after that discussion.

Vacant-post data collected in several phases

The collection of vacant-post information for the technical teachers’ transfer process began on September 6. The initial deadline was set for 2pm on September 12, but it was later extended to 2pm on September 17.

Many institutions were still unable to submit the information because of problems involving the software, email, login and data entry. Those institutions were subsequently given additional opportunities to submit their vacancy information.

By September 22, 1,421 of more than 2,000 technical education institutions had submitted information on vacant posts, while data from more than 700 institutions was still pending. Additional time was later provided for the remaining institutions.

According to the Directorate of Technical Education official, around 2,140 institutions eventually submitted their vacancy requirements after the information was collected in several phases. The data has now been published on the website and will be verified through the software before the transfer application process begins.

Applications to open after software verification

The software to be used for the transfer process does not currently have any major problems, according to the official. The final process will be confirmed after discussions with the software team.

Teachers will be able to see the relevant vacant posts when submitting their applications, although the exact application date has not yet been finalised.

There had also been complications over the authority of the director general responsible for moving the transfer process forward. According to the official, the current director general has now been given financial powers as well.

The official said the absence of financial authority had previously created some difficulties. With the current director general now given financial responsibility, the transfer process is not expected to face the same complications as before.
