Chief Adviser Greets Nation on New Year 2026
Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has extended his warm greetings to all Bangladeshis living in the country and abroad on the occasion of the English New Year 2026.
In a message issued today, he said: “The New Year means the introduction of new dreams, new hopes and new possibilities. This message of the arrival of the new year makes us excited. It stimulates new energy and inspiration to forget all the sorrows and walk to the path of a beautiful future.”
Highlighting the significance of the New Year in the changed context after the July mass uprising, he said: “The New Year is very important for the national life. We hope that the journey we have started on the path of democratic transition by repairing the flawed state system will be completed in the coming year by arranging a national election and a referendum on the July Charter implementation.”
He added: “The election and referendum will further accelerate the country’s democratic progress by resisting all plots. This is our greatest expectation in the new year.”
The Chief Adviser expressed hope that in a democratic Bangladesh, everyone will devote their best strength to the welfare of the people by loving the country. “In the new year, we will face all the challenges together and build a discrimination-free Bangladesh based on equality and justice.”
Concluding his message, he said: “Let the bonds of harmony, friendliness and brotherhood be further strengthened in the new year. Let the new year bring unwavering happiness, peace and prosperity to all’s lives.”
