MPO Teachers to Receive October Salaries in November Under Existing Pay Scale
The proposal to pay October salaries and allowances to MPO-listed teachers and employees of private schools and colleges has been sent to the Ministry of Education under the existing pay scale. The proposal has yet to receive approval, but it may be approved on Thursday or early next week.
A source at the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) said on Wednesday (October 28) that the salary proposal was sent to the ministry last Monday. Subject to the ministry's approval, the October salaries and allowances will be sent to the respective banks in early November.
Asked about the matter, DSHE Director (Finance and Procurement) Professor Mohammad Monir Hossain Patwary told The Daily Campus that the proposal for October salaries had been sent to the ministry. Teachers and employees would receive their salaries and allowances as soon as the ministry approved the proposal, he said.
A DSHE official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said efforts were underway to release the October salaries within the first week of November. If that was not possible, the process could take until the second week, the official added.
According to sources, heads of educational institutions submit monthly salary proposals for teachers and employees. After online bills are submitted, the claims are reviewed and the release of funds is arranged in coordination with the Ministry of Finance. Following the finance ministry's final approval, the authorities send the salaries and allowances to the employees' bank accounts.
The government has introduced a digital bill submission and approval process to ensure regular payment of salaries and allowances to MPO-listed teachers and employees. The system is intended to make salary processing more transparent.
