The selection (test) examinations for the 2027 Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent exams are scheduled to be held between October 28 and November 10, according to instructions issued by the education boards.

The education boards have also published the notice regarding form filling for the SSC examinations. It states that participation in the test examinations is compulsory for all students, except those who have previously failed the SSC examination and those sitting for GPA improvement. The deadline for publishing test examination results is November 15, 2026.

Regarding the syllabus, irregular candidates and those seeking to improve their results will sit for examinations based on question papers prepared in line with the 2025 and 2026 SSC syllabuses. Regular candidates will take the examinations based on question papers prepared according to the syllabus for the 2027 SSC examinations.

For students of all academic years, marks obtained through continuous assessment in Physical Education, Health Science and Sports, and Career Education must be provided by educational institutions to the respective examination centres in accordance with instructions from the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB).

The examination centres will submit the marks obtained through continuous assessment, along with practical examination marks, online through the education board's website. The original handwritten mark sheets for both practical examinations and continuous assessment must also be submitted in person to the Secondary Examination Branch.

Participation in the selection examinations is mandatory for all students, except those seeking GPA improvement and those who have previously sat for the SSC examinations but failed.
